The Perils of the Road Trip

I just moved from Florida to Arizona. I decided to take a road trip. After I packed up all my stuff, I thought about auto transport Florida, but decided what the hey, I’ll save some money by driving.

I drove through the Everglades, through the swamps and bayous of Louisiana, across the lakes of East Texas, stopped in Dallas for some beef and some tours, and then West Texas. I swear, I spent 3 days in that desert, mile after mile of sand. It never ended. Until I got into New Mexico, and it was more of the same.

Then I realized that Arizona is a desert too. Why am I moving to Arizona, I thought. Florida was at least humid sometimes, it rained in the afternoons. It’s that dry heat in 'Zona. My skin will dry out. I’ll look like a raisin in 10 years. And just then, my car died.

I had to walk 18 miles in the desert to find an auto shop to tell them where my car was. I spent a night in a cheap motel 45 miles away while they worked on my car. And the whole time I was thinking auto car transport is so much easier. Why didn’t I just pay for auto transport Florida?

Auto Transporting United Me With My Dream Car

Since I was six, I’ve had a dream car. No it it’s not a Ferrari, a Rolls-Royce, or a Maserati—it was a 1969 VW Karmann Ghia. When I was kid, my babysitter had a yellow 1969 Ghia, fully equipped with torn seats, a dent in the fender and a really bad transmission.  But technical stuff like that means nothing to a kid. The moment I saw it I decided it was the coolest car in existence. Unfortunately for me, 1974 was the last year they were manufactured, so when I finally old enough to drive, they weren’t easy to find in unless you visited a junk yard.

I got a bonus a few months ago and decided that it was time I got my dream car. Private dealers were too expensive so I took my search to eBay. I ended up finding the exact car I’ve always wanted, perfectly restored, for an unbelievable price. I got such a good deal that I had leftover bonus money to arrange for auto transport services. I couldn’t wait to drive my new car, but I didn’t want to run the risk of something happening to it on the road. I arranged for aauto car transport and had my dream car in a matter of days. Auto transporting gave me my wheels without the work. It was incredible!

About Open or Enclosed Car Transport Services

Using car transport services is very important to protect your vehicle and improve its longevity. Deciding to use auto transporting is a simple choice when embarking on a big move, but when confronted with the option of open or enclosed transport things may get a bit more complicated. If you’ve never utilized car transport services then you should be fully educated on what the differences are between the two in order to decide what the best option is for you.

Typically, open auto transporting means that 10 cars are carried on a trailer that is open and exposed to the elements. There are usually 5 cars on top and 5 on the bottom.  Open trailers are commonly used for a few reasons. A few of the main reasons are because they are lighter, cheaper and hold more cars than closed car transport services.

Closed transporting is the ideal option for transporting your vehicle if you’re sensitive to having it exposed to rain, sleet, snow, hail, and other unpredictable weather related occurrences.  Closed auto transporting is usually more expensive. This is because the carrier is heavier and can only hold about 3 cars. Close transporting also requires special safety precautions to keep the vehicles, often antique or luxury, from sliding around and getting damaged in the carrier.

So You’ve Decided to Use Car Transport Services…Now What?

If all this talk about auto transport has made you want to sign up, we commend you. Now on your move you can kick back and relax instead of undertaking a hellish road trip that could very well end up being the next plot for a National Lampoon’s Vacation movie. To ensure that you can indeed relax a bit on your move, you should adequately prepare your vehicle for car transport services.

When you hire auto transport companies, there are certain procedures and steps you should follow in order for everything to go smoothly. After signing up for their services, most companies should provide you with a checklist of things to do before the pickup.

One of the big ones is to remove all of your personal belongings out of the vehicle. Although it may seem like a good idea to utilize the space to put some boxes in, that’s actually a terrible idea. The company isn’t responsible if anything turns up broken or missing, so just don’t take the risk.

Another big thing you’ll have to do is an inspection of your vehicle for any damages, much like you have to do when you rent a car. Be sure to document any existing scratches, dings or dents. If you’re really uneasy about the process or have a bad memory, take photographs to compare when you get the car in your home.

3 Reasons Why You Need Auto Transporting

With all the things you have to worry about for a cross-country move, the last thing you should have on your mind is the safety of your vehicle. If you consider the potential drawbacks to making the drive yourself, car transport services sound like a logical option.

1)    Getting Lost:
This seems like the obvious risk you take when going on a long trip to unfamiliar territory and it usually happens. Like when you miss the exit on that desolate highway and can’t turn around for 23 miles.

2)    Running Out of Gas:
When you’re driving for long periods of time, you tend to zone out and get into the rhythm of the road. This is good because it takes your mind off the excruciatingly long drive ahead of you, but bad because you often don’t see the tiny blinking light on your dash warning you that you’re almost out of fuel. It can be especially problematic in desolate areas with no gas stations, and no cell phone service.

3)    Cramped Quarters:
If you had the mental image of you and your family just loading up the station wagon with all of you stuff to the brim, pets and all, and making the trek across the country, singing and getting along. You might want to envision the jam-packed car along in one of the previous two scenarios.

Auto Shipping Companies Make Life Easier

When my wife and I decided to move back east we explored all of our options, but we finally decided that we didn’t want to drive our car. It’s not even like our car is that nice or anything, it’s just that it’s a long drive. Three thousand miles is quite an undertaking – you have to be prepared for weather, breakdowns, traffic, and other bad news. Plus, it takes time to take a road trip – it’s like a vacation – and I had a new job to start. So we looked for auto shipping companies to make our lives a little easier.

When we found what we were looking for, we made sure to take pictures of the car before it shipped so that we could examine it upon arrival for dings and dents. It turns out we didn’t need to, because a few days after we arrived, the car showed up good as new. ABC Auto Transport is fast auto car transport that keeps the miles off of your car (and prolonged the maintenance check on mine I’ve been putting off). Now that we’re settled in, I rely on my auto car transport for errands and the commute. Everything is the same as it was out west, except we’re in a different state.

Auto Transporting is a Cinch!

Auto transporting has never been so easy. You load the car onto the tracks, tracks raise, car goes into truck, gets strapped in, bada boom. Donezo.

If you’re moving across this vast country, or heck, even if you’re only schlepping a few states over, there can be great strain placed on your car. Checking to make sure the car is ready for a long drive, and that it doesn’t break down when you’re on the road is no joke. There’s the tire pressure, oil changes, you name it, you need to be prepared for it when you drive a thousand miles or more on one trip. Why deal with all that hassle when you can just pay auto shipping companies to move your car for you?

Your car will be safe and sound as it travels, and if you want to protect it from the elements along the way, it’s worth it to rent a private trailer. That way she sits in peace and quiet for the trip, waiting for you to arrive. Auto shipping companies are reliable and affordable. So don’t bother with self auto transporting, you have too many other things to worry about when you move.

Auto Transporting: How Do We Get There?

Because we at ABC Auto Transport are dedicated to providing you with the fastest and best car transport services, we want to talk about a bit about a system that allows us to do our job: the Interstate Highway System.

The system began back in 1956, when General Eisenhower pioneered the idea after having driven across the country back in 1919 on Lincoln Road, the first road to span the country, and after seeing how the German Autobahn aided national security and allowed for auto car transport and mobility.

If you’re looking for auto transport Florida, for example, chances are your auto transporting would begin using I-95, the interstate that serves the most states – 15 – and is also the longest north to south. The major insterstate routes were planned to be divisible by 5 and increase from 5 to 95 as you move east, and from 10 to 90 as you move from south to north.

There are also auxiliary three digit interstates. Let’s say that we’re auto transporting from Miami to L.A. But you’re moving to Santa Monica and we don’t want to go through downtown L.A. on the I-5. So we’ll take the I-405 which is a loop around L.A. – and also happens to have the most volume out of any interstates. Hmm, maybe we’ll look for an alternate auto transporting route…

Auto Transporting: The Perfect Solution for Moving High-Mileage Vehicles

My friend from Florida’s car was like his child.

It was a 1977 Chevy Nova with 150,000 miles on it and a pretty hideous paint job, but he talked about it and drove it around town like it was a brand new Lamborghini.

Even though it was ugly, it was his first car and it had a lot of memories within two dented doors. He loved that car more than most people, so when he got a job in Oregon, he knew it wouldn’t be able to handle a cross-country road trip.

He briefly considered trading it in for something newer, but was pretty sure that he wouldn’t get very much for it. Besides, how could he leave without the car he loved since he was 16? That’s when he found out about Abc Auto Transporting. Auto Transporting was the perfect solution.

After flying out to Oregon and getting settled in his new place, his car was delivered to his new driveway, just as hideous as it was when he last saw it. Their affordable car transporting services made it possible for him to have his beloved car with him in his new city.

So if you’re moving and have an unreliable vehicle, or one that you just can’t drive across the country, car transporting services done by auto shipping companies is the best way to go.

Auto Car Transport, by... a Car

I’m a 2004 Chevy Malibu. My owners, Jim and Melissa, just decided to move across the country. So they googled auto transport Florida (that’s where we live) and found ABC Auto Car Transport. At first when Jim mentioned auto transporting, I was a little worried. “I can make the trip,” I told him. “But we can’t,” he replied. They cleaned me up and sent me on my way on a big truck with some other cars headed out west.

They were all nice guys, some Toyotas and Hondas, a cool Ford, and even another Chevy. Needless to say, we all got along really well. And it turned out being pretty nice to rest my legs for a week and watch the road go by.

We drove North, far away from the auto car transport Florida dealers, probably never to see them again. Across Missouri, the cornlands of Iowa and Nebraska, and North, always North into the Dakotas where the plains were endless, and I thought we might be getting close to my new home on the mighty Pacific but no luck - we came to the Rocky Mountains and weaved high through them.

The cowboys in Idaho and the red rocks were beautiful, and then we got to the wild Oregon desert, and finally to my new home. There are a lot more trees here, and it’s kind of wet, but wow it’s pretty. And ABC Auto Car Transport really got me there safely. And now I, a car, really know how nice it is to be driven around.

The Benefits of Auto Transporting...

When it comes to your vehicle and car transport services you really have to start to look at the list of pros and cons. One of the major pros about auto shipping companies is the safety and price. While driving your car on your own from point A to point B might seem like a good idea at first, you begin to wonder what the safety issues are. Of course when you're driving a vehicle there is always that chance you could get into an accident or your car could stall or run out of gas!

Something like this would never happen when it comes to auto transporting because of the extra safety precautions they take! Also, you have to figure in the amount of money it's going to cost you to drive your car via your starting location to your destination. By doing a quick estimation you can see that from by driving from Jacksonville Florida to Pittsburgh PA - you will be using up $250 worth in gas. That's a good bit of money and we’re not even counting in toll booths!

When dealing with auto transport Florida you won't have to worry about any of these problems because you will pay one price for a one way location - this includes the labor for the driver, insurance costs and gas mileage. These auto shipping companies seem to have a lot more positives than negatives!
